"A legendary place for a spicy beef soup dish called Empal Gentong, this place is mentioned in every culinary guide about Cirebon, so I definitely have to visit. This is my 2nd time here. This time I ordered: - Empal Gentong (coconut milk based) - Empal Asem (clear soup based, sour & fresh) - Sate Kambing (Goat Satay) - Nasi Lengko - Fried Chicken - Tahu Gejrot - Es Duren (Durian Ice Cream) The empal dish is definitely delicious, the beef was cooked until tender. The soup definitely you choose by preference. The goat satay is also delicious, the fat burst in your mouth like heaven. You can skip other menus and just opt for these 2 items. A bowl of empal for IDR 25K is really fair, I would even order 2 portions. Satay was pricey at IDR 60K / 10 sticks, but it's indulgent. Empal is served quickly but the satay needs more time to arrive, for obvious reasons. Parking is roadside and quite a headache in peak lunch and dinner time. You can also bring it home as they have the seasoning & empal dish in tin can for IDR 40K."

"The first Empal Gentong I ate in Cirebon and surprisingly the taste was delicious and their Satay was my favorite. The Satay was served with sweet soy sauce with nutty sauce and chili sambal. They also provided Durian Ice Cream and Tahu Gejrot (Tofu served with sweet-sour sauce). Satay Meat was juicy and fatty as they used young goat. I was excited and satisfied with all their food. P.S. Parking lot was a bit hard to find, but dont worry as their parking guide (juru parkir) is helpful and eager to manage."

"It was packed during our visit. Good food, plentiful seating, parking is quite limited. But my only gripe was the smoke filled venue whose smell will linger long after you leave the restaurant. Our orders: - beef satay, simply the best with the spice soaked meat that blends nicely with the BBQ aroma and eaten together with the raw onion, cut chilly paddy, and sauce dip - empal gentong, tasty santan style soup with choice of meat, tripe and usus. - tahu gejrot, the fried tofu soaked with garlic flavored soy sauce mixed with onion didn't dissapoint me - nasi lengko, local rice cuisine mixed with vegetable and peanut based sauce. It was first (and the last time) trying it"
